Monty Python were a big influence in my formative years and one particular sketch that has stuck in my mind
was about a company called Confuse-a-Cat who would come out and ...well .....do what it said on the van.
I can't remember why they or the owner thought it was necessary. When the credits rolled it said "With thanks to
Confuse-a-Cat, incorporating Dumfound-a-Dog, Bewildebeest, etc etc.
I just like the sound of the word.
Plus if you've ever looked a Wildebeest in the eye - bewildered is probably their natural state.

Long long long before the 914 landed in my life, I was a loyal and slightly obsessive Saab owner, aided by the father of a close friend owning and operating a Saab specialist garage, and therefore being the obvious first person to visit as my 17th birthday and 1st car approached.

So mixed in with other makes, I've had 96 V4s (2), 99s (GL and EMS), 900 ('classic'), mk1 9000 and mk2 9000's (4) - and then a 9-5...

The 9-5 was the worst car I've owned - unreliable, slow(er than it should have been), uneconomical and with a different, expensive and infuriating new fault seemingly every week.

So when the opportunity came to step out of the 9-5 (which LOOKED immaculate) and into a (previous model) 9000 Aero that had been hanging around on a dealer forecourt for too long, and for very little cash-to-change, I leapt at it.

And re-registered my name on a Saab forum by way of a protest against what had become of Saab as a manufacturer, as 'Swapped my 9-5 for a 9000 Aero'.

This has since become shorter.

My surname is Dance.... - Disco was one of my better schoolboy nicknames, along with 'Lord of the'.

... always fancied flash myself .

I was born Bermit the Frog. Then I registered with an online psychotherapists discussion forum in the US and I got nearly excommunicated for my silly name, so I choose a nice and much more anonymous handle: Bertroex.

Mostly no-one has heard of it nor can they pronounce it but hey ho .

surely its like rolex without the 'L' - cant be that hard? - you want to try and have a surname that everyone has heard before, but for some reason you have to spell it every time... Mine was boringly easy - my initials, followed by what became a lucky number for me many years ago. I can't even remember why now, but on a couple of occasions it has helped me win a small pot of cash in a casino so I've stayed loyal to it!
