Here's the latest news:

It will be a proper track day going out in groups (fun (road cars) and racing (with slicks). The cost €430 per car (its gone up since last year) for about 4hrs on the track. You must have a crash helmet and tow hooks fitted to the car. There is an open bar (buffet) all day for an extra €45. I will enquire whether we can book a garage for the team.

I will start to enquire about accomodation. I was thinking about self-catering style chalets for Spa and a nice Art Deco hotel on the mosel for the ring. I will also be sorting out road books. We may be joined for a part by the European Parliament Classic Car Club (mainly e-types and stuff).

SPA trackday and Nurburgring 2007?

Dear All,

I've got a quote for the hotel in Traban Trarbach on the Mosel. Its a nice drive from the Ring. May be 1 hour. So we could get there for a late evening meal. There is off road parking. It's right next to the river and a nice place to start from to head off back to the Ardennes.

The price is €150 per night (based on two sharing). See the link in the thread for information. Alternatively we could stay at the ring and drive down the mosel the next morning.

For anyone who is interested you are all also very welcome to continue on with us instead of returning to the UK. On Saturday we are leaving for the Black Forest for a couple of days. We will be finishing up in Strasbourg on the Tuesday. Some great roads down there!!!

BTW I need to confirm interest with the Hotel in Traban during the first week of June. The following people have signalled an interest. Please can you confirm to me that you still are up for it. Hotels will all be around €100-150 a night (for two). I'm still waiting for Malmedy and Bouillon to get back to me.

Please let me know by 30th May. I'll try and pm you too.

Nick,

Thanks for organising this.
Unfortunately the thread seems rather confusing now. There are many options listed.
Just so I can get my head around it and see if I can attend, could it look like this?:

Monday August 27th.
Bank Holiday UK (just as an aside, nothing to do with the trip)

Tuesday August 28th.
Set out, get ferry, arrive Spa late afternoon. Accommodation at Spa.

Wednesday August 29th.
Porsche Cub Franco Track Day at Spa. Evening accommodation at Spa.

Thursday August 30th.
Drive to 'Ring early morning followed by track time that afternoon.
Evening drive down Mosel to Traban Trabach Art Nouveau Hotel.

Friday August 31st.
Go home.

or the last portion could be:

Friday August 31st.
Drive across Ardennes to Bouillion. Stay another night.

Saturday September 1st
Go home

Is that a good summary of what you had in mind?
I'm sorry to try and clarify things but you evidently need to press us for a commitment and yet our heads are full of the 'Highland' tour at the moment. It would be nice to clear that before addressing this. :)

Paul,

Thanks for that. Its exactly what I have in mind.

I will provide a route from Traban to Bouillon if anyone wants to do that bit.

Regards,

Nick

I spent Friday driving Spa. The track was as excellent as ever. I really do recommend it in August.

If there are no takers by the end of this week I will cancel the hotel option in Traban Trarbach.

All the best,

Nick

Sorry Nick - still building the car and I am not spending too much time on the computer keyboard! If there is going to be a DDK presence then please keep me on the list and let me know if you need a deposit.

Thanks.

Bob

The infamous La Source. nearly lost it here on lap 1!!!!

Its been redone and is wider than before. It was very slippy as we were the first on the new track.
