Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
I preferred the idea of a 911 with a 4 cam, to the reality of that green thing, what a waste of a great engine! W

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
See my edit to the original post - it's a 904 four-cam installed in a 911 to test the motor... Nothing to do with factory prototypes.

Chap in the state's is being a 904 spec 4 cam from new parts. It isn't cheap. You can probably buy 3 to 4 nice 912s!

.
It is a 'Pooper' - Porsche-engined Cooper - but I'm fairly sure it's not the one associated with Ken Miles.
I saw this car (the one posted by Neil) at Rennsport Reunion IV at Laguna Seca - I'm sure I have some photos of it there ...

It's the Tippy Lipe Pooper, see:

...inspiration for the Lovely Pooper (probably best not to Google this):
Pete Lovely at Pebble Beach '56 with a broken linkage. Working the throttle by hand for several laps he managed 4th in class
This is the Ken Miles Pooper with family in the pits, Pomona 1957

I'm pretty sure too this isn't the Ken Miles Popper. However, it's often near the front of races. Here in a battle with Greg Campbell's rebodied Speedster (another very interesting car)
