The wheels I went to get last week didn’t fit. And the Rotiform Aerodiscs I’ve been looking at have 2 problems - they’re £60 each, which is over budget, and they only come in 18 or 19” diameter. I’m going for smaller wheels than this.
But this morning I found a largely forgotten alternative called Metrodiscs that are made in the correct size. There aren’t great photos available but from what I can see they look pretty close and are ~£8 each not £60.
They only come in silver and I think I might want them grey, so I might need another £8 worth of paint but the order is in.

Pictures I’ve seen suggest that restomods always have different wing mirrors to original. So I’ve ordered some of those.
Lightweight racing plastic seemed more appropriate than metal. £7 each. I’d have gone for one for ultimate weight saving but that would leave holes in one door which isn’t very £200k.

No. I’ve had a couple of unexpected set backs.
1. It was cold last week so I stayed indoors.
2. The weekend before I did a couple too many pingers and it took me until Wednesday to get over the brain zaps, so that week was basically a write off too.
I do remain fully committed to the build but delivery is now estimated Q1 2026.

I’m continuing to buy parts with gay abandon though. Another £9 spent today on vinyl wrap for the lower half of the body.

Bit of progress today, took less time than I thought to put a new cap on the chinmey pot so I had time to build an adapter mount for the smaller front lights.

Obviously I’ll paint it black.
