Silly question (well, hopefully not..) you didn’t remove the longitudinal staking in the pin did you? Reason for asking is that it looks like you have sanded it flatish. That’s the bit that holds the pin in the housing

So….

Refitted based on my indexing when removing



Which was a bit vague to say the least! Reverse seemed to be where 4th should be

So using a guide online I adjusted it from scratch and then played around for a bit before….

Taking it up the road and it all felt good - much better than before I had the issue

So now to torque everything up and then go for a really good run to be sure

Nice ! I have always installed the bushing without removing the pin.....Never knew it was possible. Removing makes much more sense than leaving parts in the freezer and boiling jugs of water

Might also be worth putting some safety wire around the small set screw that connects to the gearbox shaft, so that it can't work free (the set screw can't be overtightened !).

Worth checking the shifter end also, there's another set screw that holds everything onto the shifter rod.....Mine worked loose and I ended up with only 4th gear.

Pleased to say just took it for a spirited run to petrol up and all good, more precise than I remember it before the issue so good news all round
