…… quick engine question if I might.
I note you have what look like K&N air filters and rain hats on the throttle bodies. I wanted to do that to my 2.4E engine, but read somewhere that the mfi pump fouled the LH air filter assembly and either a spacer had to be made and fitted or the mounting plate had to be cut/bent/mullah'd to get it to fit. Not easy to see in your photo, but yours doesn't look to have needed any treatment. Can you confirm this please, and give any detail on the air filter/hats.
I prefer the cleaner look of this arrangement to the big air box, and it allows more engine access without removing it all.

I had all the engine work done by DSD motorwerks, the rain hats and K&N's came from the states.
I will find out who from and get the details for you. As far as i am aware the only mods required were drilling the 4No 6mm holes in top of throttle bodies to accept the mounting bolts. The rubber gaskets on top of the throttle bodies were also replaced. Only other mod required is to provide an oil breather tank or botle for the oil breather pipe that goes back up to the original filter housing (batwing)

What a fantastic colour it looks sooo cool.
Hope you don't mind me saying but you might want to fit your plug leads correctly, I would hate for them to snag in the throttle body linkage. They should be like this on the off side.

You can just unscrew the plug off the lead if you need to thread them through the fuel lines.

Afternoon All
Panels now going back on car. Taken a bit longer than expected but as a mate is doing paint and body work for me for a great price can't complain.




Have had a bit of rubber trouble (easy) trying to remember what goes where but think its sorted now.
New dash arrived from Lakewell last week and looks the business. Hopefully get the trimmer to fit new headling this week then can go back to have engine and box put back in plus dash and glass.
Was hoping to have car ready for le man 24hr but i think i am pushing it, but should be ready for the classic.
Now i need to decide on stripes IE design and colour. Any ideas much appreciated.
And No those wheels are not staying on!

Hi All
Car now back from painters and delivered back to workshop for fitting up


Car seems to be in pretty good company

Hopefully car should be running when I get back from holiday then mad rush to see if I can get the interior finished and run in before Le mans 24hour, but will now definitely be ready for the classic.

Dave is the only guy I trust with my porsche stuff (Thats my Jäger 914/6GT parked next to yours
so your car is in good hands.. Dave will be building my engine also, but I wont bother him with that until your car is done!

Hopefully he is working on it while I am away. As you say I cant praise him enough really, what he dose not know about Porsche cars isn't worth knowing. Really very pleased with what he has done.

Not to hijack your thread at all but I thought you might be interested to know that your car's younger brother (sister?) a 3 owner, aubergine MFI '73 T is here in New Zealand and getting a restoration as well - from a rust-free California past but with the last 17 years as shelving in a desert shed!
Have decided to go non-original on the engine though with conversion to 2.7RS specs using factory parts.
I'll watch your progress with interest.
