FYI . . . only a couple of cabins left (the expensive ones) therefore crossing with cabin = £425.

Crossing with 2 reclining seats = £202.

I'm staying on after the event, so will be going via the tunnel.

Being slow off the mark Sarah & I hadn't booked a ferry until after I submitted the camping booking on line. 'Plenty of time' I thought !! It's still 2009 after all !!
Checked out the suggested Portsmouth Caen return option suggested here but only Premier cabins are available now on the outward journey so cost is £505 which for a cross Channel return ferry sounds vaguely absurd (This is with just std seating for the return journey). There are reclining seats for £202 but that sounds like sleeping on a Plane, which has never been my strong point. £303 extra for a one way cabin to Caen is some premium !!!

We have no desire to travel on our own if we don't have to, so if anyone else is interested then we have now booked the following alternative. Cost is only £185 with fast ferries both ways and should get us to LeMans only a few hours later then the main group. Would be pleased if anyone wanted to join us. Best booking price I found was with Brittany Ferries own website. http://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/quote-book
Poole to Cherbourg
Thur 8 Jul 2010 07:15
AND
Cherbourg to Portsmouth

If anyone interested then just let me know.
