Did Seaman Staines ever actually exist, or was he a figment of my furtive and sordid imaginations?
Shurely shome mishtake
(ps: love to Mrs MyCar - the S is looking stunning - glad you didn't buy the E-Type now?

Indeed, only DDK can go from Classic Porsche Club to Seaman Stains in a few posts!

I just had a quick look at the Japanese "clubs" listed. Four of the five are affiliated with a publishing company that makes squillions from promoting classic events through out Japan. They could not give a rat's a*#e about Porsches or any other marque as long as they can make a buck out of it. I participated in one of their events and was totally disgusted with the level of opportunistic cynicism with which the whole exercise took place.
I can see the merit, however, of DDK having recognition to the point where it could be of help to others elsewhere. As it already has been to me.
I am quite in favor of being on the lists themselves, but NOT being part of that overall ethos. I am definitely another who is very happy to be a "pirate" and appreciate the totally non-commercial pleasures and camaraderie that emanates from a group like this.

A bit of lateral thinking here. I'm going out with this fantastic girl from Malta, who came back from the High Commissioner last week saying: "would you know it, he set up the Jaguar Club Malta".
-"That's great", I responded, "I searched and didnt find a Porsche Club Malta. Maybe something for when we settle there, ey."
Now, who says that the "DDK office" has to be per se on UK soil? Club president, secretary, address and a "web representation".
May I nominate Mike Bainbridge as Club technician please

I think he could use a holiday with a bag full of tools and a few service kits!!!!
