Apparently he was the first man in the UK to lap a closed UK circuit in a sports racer at over 100mph average

Your memory does not fail you except that it was at Full Sutton, a USAF Base, near York in a D Type Jag - the runways had just been re-surfaced

Watched the one on Graham Hill on the I player this morning - what a legend. It brought a tear to my eye watching the footage of the funeral with his trademark helmet adorning the coffin. He was my favourite as a kid, and I really hated Jackie Stewart. Wonderful footage of a bygone era. Seeing Hill, Stewart and Clark in their trunks carrying 12 bore shotguns!

Time is of the essence, and I am rather short on essence! Graham Hill.
