just got back :)

The weather was superb at last, if not a bit breezy.

A big thankyou to Mike & Sue, who got up at 6am to travel across from Cumbria

So Mike & Sue, Mick, Phil & me with my 2 daughters all met in Easingwold market place, although start time was delayed by an urge from some to dive into the nearest cafe for bacon butties ;)

The convoy of a 2.4S, an RS rep, 3.0 Carrera & 1966 S set of for a good drive up to Castle Howard for another 'tea' stop & a good natter :)

This was followed by another blast across to The Abbey for a fantastic lunch.

Great driving & great company, lets hope the roads stay salt free for a lot longer.

:)

I'll second that James.....

After a bad week and in need of cheering up, what better than convivial company and a good thrash. Really brought me back to 'normal' - if such a state exists with me  .

As ever, I was pleased that James had his two young daughters with him and was "taking it steady" so I only got the tail of the rep out of line once

We MUST take up Mike & Sue's offer and have a run over to their neck of the woods - the Lake District beckons...... SOON (before the salt!).

We echo all that has been said definitely worth the early start. Thanks once again James for the organising. Better get the diairies out and co-ordinate for the western blast. Thought about you all on return journey, wide open dual on the snowpole stretch after the Reeth turnoff was great into the setting sun and then we got halfway across and guess what? It is the Lake District after all! Phil, when do you get back from China? Busy the next few days will pick up thread later in the week.

I 'might' be able to do that date, but it is the last Sunday of half term so depends on where we are going on holiday. I imagine I'll also not be in a porsche :)

The dates for my trip are becomming a little 'fluid' but I'm sure I'd be back that day - only thing to watch is that it's the first of the 'dark nights' after clocks go back

But it'd still be good to have a blat :-)

Sorry guys but we already have something on for the weekends of the 29th Oct and 5th. Nov. Still free for 21st/22nd Oct or failing that 11/12th. Nov but days shorter. The offer still stands for anyone who wants to stay over (a bit of a squash but you are used to camping!! - sleeping bags could be useful) Obviously if its better for you to come the w/es we are not available I can suggest some "runs" but from what I understand Ian D is more familiar with some of this area than us. The downside of mid Nov might be salt of course.

If peeps still want to go for the 29th, I'm sure I can put something together.

I can't do 21st / 22nd October, but 11th / 12th November (my birthday) are fine by me.

Good fun these diary arrangements aren't they?
