The vacuum take off used in a conventional system is what is known as "ported vacuum", and is usually just up from the butterflies. You will need a "real " vacuum measurement (for the fuelling) but there is perhaps a "ported vacuum setting for the ignition only mode. Take off from the holes that you bunged up when you removed the over-run enrichment stuff should work a treat. if it is not stable, connect them all together, and use a mig tip in line (restriction) and an inline fuel filter (buffer) and this should even out any backpressures from the cam .
Cheers

Cheers Tim,
The overrun enrichment ports sound like a plan, these enter about 4mm below the butterflies. I'll hook that up tonight.

Did you get your MS ECU from the US or in the UK? Im wanting to do this for my 3.2 so I can ditch my AFM and eventually go to ITB's. I found a place that sells edis ready V3 ECU's for £260 inc vat is this about the going rate?
Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,
I bought my ECU from Bill Shurvington in the UK. We discussed a specification then he configured it accordingly and also put a base .msq file in to set up all the little details. ...and it worked first time
Great bloke, really knows his stuff, highly recommended. My MSI V3 ECU was £237 delivered including configuration for MS Extra (Spark control) using Ford EDIS, shift lights, tach output and PWM idle control. He can be found at :
bill@shurvinton.fsworld.co.uk. He normally replies to emails past 10pm at night.
I can also recommend Chris at:

Another top bloke, good service and advice.
Good luck with your project, and I guess you have already immersed yourself in the reading on
http://www.megasquirt.info Made my brain hurt.

COIL C SHOULD BE CONNECTED TO THE CYLINDER THAT FIRES AFTER NUMBER 1.
Like number 6 you f'wit, not number 5.
Repeat after me: Firing order 1-6-2-4-3-5 So pair up 1&4 6&3 2&5
Gary,
I driven your car it has never had that firing order, as I remember its...
1-6- - -4-3-5, 1-6-2- - 3-5, - - 6-2-4-3-5

If there's enough interest, I can see about a DDK group buy.
I'm in the electronics industry, know people who'd be happy to solder them together (trained to full Mil spec soldering techniques) ... I know that the Imp club did similar, and you can really get the price down for this parts. Any thoughts ?

I'd be up for a group buy Tim - just need the ECU.
I'm sure Mick Cliff's watching with interest too

No progress this week. Currently suffering a prolonged parental visit so garage time has taken a hit. Full steam ahead soon though...
