SOLD - 380mm Steering Wheel

Post by pmjt »

I bought this from Manfred Herring in Germany and was assured that this and the other one are both original RS steering wheels - Mark Waring also agrees that they are - however, someone else (no names :-) ) told me they're humble 914 wheels - whatever - they are beautifully restored:

Partsnumber for Carrera RS correct wheel 91134708400 optional 91134708205

The partsnumber from your wheel I am afraid belongs to a 914-4 wheel delivered with "steering wheel foam part" with means that the wheel was originaly covered with a semi hard foam made to look like leather. The wheel was delivered from 72 and up. They look great when they are now covered in leather, but you have to countersink screws to make the horn canseling ring fit properly.
