1967 RHD For Sale

Post by 67Matt »

Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting an ad on here - if I am, please let me know!
I'm selling the 912 I've owned since 2009, as it's just not getting used as it should due to other toys.
The car is a 1967 RHD UK car, with matching numbers engine.
Body/Paint
Car has had bare metal/screens out respray in period correct Porsche Silver (96024).
Car was media blasted to find any corrosion, and there is an extensive list of replacement panels, including:
Both floor halves
Both door skins
Inner and outer sills
Full rear quarters (these had to come from Porsche in Germany and cost £2.5k).
Total bill from the bodyshop, excluding parts, was £12k.
I have been as sympathetic as possible with trim/brightwork, not wanting to over restore. I have retained/refurbed trim where possible, but if beyond help, eg horn grilles/rear overriders, it was replaced. In addition, hardware and seals have been replaced when re-assembling.
I have lots of photos taken by the bodyshop whilst being restored which may be of interest to potential purchaser. Car has only done a few hundred miles since restoration, always garaged and never driven in the wet.
Engine
The engine has been stripped down and cleaned/resprayed, with replacement parts where needed.
Compression test was good, and car was running well prior to restoration, so didn’t have to dig too deep.
Carbs have been stripped and rebuilt, as has petrol pump. Electronic ignition has also been fitted.
Mechanicals
Brakes have had a full overhaul.
Original Nadella driveshafts have been fully refurbished by Chris Flavell at Fenn Lane, with new bearings.
Interior
Full interior re-trim in dark red at a cost of £3k, along with full period correct dark grey carpet from Lakewell in Germany
Misc
Comprehensive overhaul with Max at Revival in October 2020 (invoice totalled just over £11k).
The loom has had a good going over, with wiring/connections where necessary, so all now in working order.
Wheels have been polished and new tyres fitted.
Have box file full of paperwork/invoices.
Still To Do
In the interests of balance, only fair to point out that there are a few jobs still to do:
New headliner needs to be fitted.
Sunroof winds manually, but motor needs a refurb
Rear quarter chrome trim strips to be re-fitted.
Engine decals to be applied.
Radio not period correct.
Clock not working.
The car will be going to Max shortly, but thought I'd post here to give anyone interested the heads up.
Feel free to message me for photos/more info.
Best,
Matt

Sorry, in Portugal for a few days, and only just seen your post. Car is with Max at Revival Cars as he is handling the sale. It’s on his website at £69,995. Very happy to send more photos though if you let me have your email address, as the ones on Max’s site don’t really do it justice! All the best, Matt
