The last ever Techno Classica

Post by misteralz »

As subject line. Next year it'll be Retro Classics Essen. It's a show that's been getting steadily worse, especially after all the manufacturers pulled out - 2023 was the last one where Volkswagen Classic were there. But as I've probably said before, a bad Techno Classica is better than no Techno Classica. This one definitely felt like 'the end', although there were still some absolute gems turned up. Enjoy:

So the next one will be called Retro Classics Essen but basically the same?

Been going to Essen for about 30 years. Those were the good old day's when there were 19 halls and 5 or 6 were full of used Parts. I made my last visit a couple of years ago and we got round it in a few hours. Still a good boys outing though. Great pictures.

I think 2017 was the last one like that? It was properly excellent. Be interesting to see how it goes next year.

Interesting that one of those 1960’s BMW 700 CS Coupes sold at Mathewson’s last year, and seemed to have a lot of work done on it for the price.

Ace. The one up there had a hot Beetle engine behind a 901 'box.
