WANTED 1973 2.7RS CARRERA vin# 911360-1331 ! DEAD OR ALIVE !

Post by kobus »

I have reasons to belive that this 2.7RS Touring ended up in the UK around 1976.. It was originally sold in Belgium, if it still exists today is not sure.. but this car may still exist today... and if anyone knows of it please be so kind to put me in touch with the current owner! 1331 is the magic number!!!
thanks, Kobus

Kobus

Was this car owned by your grandfather?

Still searching for the current owner but no luck so far.

Mike

Who is taking the place of David Gilhooley at PCGB now? It might still be registered over there or at least there might be a trace so some detective work can start.

Also, the usual trade suspects like Autofarm, Russel Edmond-Harris, Bob Watson, the Bainbrige brothers... might know about its whereabouts. If you had an RS, where would you bring it to for a service 20, 15, 10 and 5 years ago?

Best regards,

Mike Chadwick I think

Ian on here may also be able to shed some light on any UK owner.

Michael Chadwick (FLY 7 on DDK) worked closely with David Gilhooley & probably has access to the RS Register - could be worth sending him a pm.

I'd also send an email to Fred Hampton via PCGB.

Hello,

You can send an email to this rs club. They have a 911RS registry.

Andrew Kenyon has just been appointed Register Secretary of the Carrera RS Register - very experienced Club member (and Director) and longtime friend of David G.

Andrew will be endeavouring to help update the International Register, but this does rely on new owners keeping the Register informed and passing on any useful snippets of information that come to light about any RSs.

All Register information is treated in strict confidence and covered by the Data Protection Act. However the on-going accuracy of the Register is very important to maintain the authenticity of each RS, to keep a record of the genuine cars that have survived and contact details of the current owner.

WRT Kobus's enquiry #1331 is on the Register, but there is no up to date information about current ownership.

The car was a lhd M472 'Touring', in Light Yellow, originally supplied to Belgium. It did come to the UK, probably in the late '70s and was possibly painted black, and may have had the reg no. KYM 1 (apparently now on an Aston Martin DB9).

Obviously, if anyone can shed any more light on it's whereabouts then Kobus and the Register would be delighted to hear.

Hello

I am the owner of the REAL 9113601331.

The RS you were looking at in Spain, back in 2012 (http://www.early911sregistry.org/forums ... sible-Sale), is FAKE. The story the owner tell about his car is also false. I don´t know wether the guy built the car or bougth it from someone, but it has an E chasis and a 2.7 engine from the 80´s. He tells everyone that he´s got a real RS, but in my opinion, he is not foolling anyone.

The real 1331 is also in Spain, in my collection. It has the correct chassis number, engine, gearbox and production number. It is also yellow. The car had been racing for some years. At the moment I am removing all the competition things (rollcage, etc) and take it back to original. Before Spain, the car has been in Belgium and UK (as far as I know). If anyone can provide with information about the history of my car, I would appreciate.

Best regards

Francisco
