Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Thanks Andy, I'm a great fan of the Peter Gregory K3 reps so looked similar apart from no supercharger out the front.
cheers, Mike.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
GN 'Katipo', put together from a selection of GN chassis parts, and a hot 1100cc JAP 'dog ear' engine, by a visiting Kiwi in his 20s. A remarkable piece of work, he is detail obsessive and has made a wonderful job of it. It is quick too, now clothed in order to satisfy scrutineers.....majordad wrote:What in the name of Moses is that? I like it.
Under the drivers legs, is a subtly tweaked 4 speed open dog engagement GN transmission, driving the solid rear axle with 1 chain beside the seat. Drawing inspiration from Bolster's 'Bloody Mary'...

There's something about these pre-war specials that makes one's pulse race.Winston Teague wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 8:28 pmGN 'Katipo', put together from a selection of GN chassis parts, and a hot 1100cc JAP 'dog ear' engine, by a visiting Kiwi in his 20s. You should try driving one! But what really gets the pulse racing is facing up to the need to explain the implications of each blowup to one's family.....they are makers of workshop-widowsOllie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 10:06 amThere's something about these pre-war specials that makes one's pulse race.Winston Teague wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 8:28 pmGN 'Katipo', put together from a selection of GN chassis parts, and a hot 1100cc JAP 'dog ear' engine, by a visiting Kiwi in his 20s. Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
That is 'Salome', a late 20s 3 wheeler Morgan, with a GN rear axle 4 wheel modification. Put together before the war by Jan Breyer, initially for 'CAPA' grasstrack racing in the Bristol area, but also hillclimbing. Campaigned pretty much continuously since, often by members of the Giles family, that pic is Jonathon, at a recent Shelsley. A formidable combination....below is an early incarnation of the car, Jan Breyer at the wheel, at Shelsley of course...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
These hillclimb racers from so long ago are fascinating and driven with such abandon but so very quick.
