Amazed the owner didnt buy it back from insurance company. You can usually do a deal, against payout etc.IE take 20% less than agreed value, and keep the salvage. The coding for insurance classification must have also changed.Last time I checked via HPI B & C were ok to repair. It was S that was break only.

Re: Another early S bites the dust
Delivery should be reasonable, I paid less than £200 for somebody to haul my 911 onto a trailer in Norwich and bring it to me in Lichfield.IanM wrote:Unfortunately non-members can't get a quote.
Are there any members here reading this thread?
In the below link, there is a heading 'Delivery Quote' under the set of photos. All it takes is type in the post code and click the calculate button.
The post code of the York facility is YO41 1HS
I would greatly appreciate it if someone can let me know.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

You do need to be a registered breaker to be able to buy Cat B vehicles.

Re: Another early S bites the dust
It's them, Copart, doing the delivery, not a private hauler organised by the winning bidder, so I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be more expensive otherwise why wouldn't they allow non-members to check for a quote?
Regarding your haulage, the distance from Norwich to Lichfield is 165 miles (330 miles round trip for the driver), but the distance from Ramsgate to York is 278 miles (556 miles round trip), which is almost twice as long. My guess is the quote would be about £400 plus VAT but more likely £600 plus VAT.
Anyway, I think it's too risky to pay £100 for the membership then only to find out it's not going to work out favourably.

Re: Another early S bites the dust
Anyone bidding on this today?
The pre live auction price is already at £16200 which seems a lot to me, factoring in all the others fees and VAT

Re: Another early S bites the dust
Only makes sense at that money if you can get the Cat B overturned. I bought a running, driveable long hood with no fire damage and usable V5 for not much more. Maybe there is a way for a licensed recycler to buy it and then hang on to it while they get an automotive engineer to declare it safe.
