Where to sell a car that's been POA for as long as I can remember? The classy Flemish resort of Knokke, where a waffle and ice cream in a sea front café costs almost as much as a pair of 911k heads was a good shout

Image

Maybe bidders had blown their budgets on 2 scoops this morning as works developement 914-55 passed at €390k (est. €425 - €575k). Contrast this with the M471 which sold Stateside in June for $500k, €465k. Expect to see more cars cross the pond where classic Porsches are expensive and waffles and ice cream cheap

Interesting to see what this might go for. Simeone has had a lovely time working on that floor.

I hope - if it meets reserve - that the winning bidder has bothered to scroll down & look at those pictures of the underside !

Incidentally it has been advertised for quite a while at £85k ...

Ah. That’s making me nostalgic for my first beetle. That had a similar standard of underside. It was £200 though, not £85,000.

No idea what this would cost but I wouldn’t be happy with the panel fit and shut lines or am I picky?

The back end looks like it’s had a stroke!

That left hand side rear bumper does indeed look rather awkward. There is a u toober who is currently getting his 912 restored at Rindt (TGE tv) and when he does a walk round of their premises their is a row of painted shells and they look absolutely stunning on the tv! Maybe not when you see them close up,I don't know.
They have worked on an 80's targa for him aswell and it does look good! Has the demand cooled off that they are putting a car up for auction? I presume getting a build done would be paid for in stages so this will probably be getting sold for a customer they are trying to help out!

Yes I follow him too ….undoubtedly it’s a busy and successful set up.

BUT

If I’d commissioned a nut and bolt restomod like that and been presented with some of those shut lines and gaps around the bumpers/lights/ indicators I wouldn’t be happy at all..

Maybe the client felt the same and rejected it hence it being available for sale ‘hot off the press’ ?

I do like the engine bay though :)

very nice. I enjoyed mine , which was DMS modded to 520 bhp . Stupidly quick and very capable. Could pass groups of cars in one squirt. Brakes werent good enough for the power though and ultimately once the acceleration novelty wore off a bit soulless and relatively boring on the country roads.
