Car Highlights
One of Just 13 Club Coupes Built Worldwide and Two in Right-Hand Drive
Built by Porsche Exclusive and Fitted with X51 Powerkit Engine
Finished in Striking and Unique Family Green over Cappuccino Leather
Designed to Commemorate the Porsche Club’s 60th Anniversary
Likely the Rarest Porsche 911 Production Variant Ever Built
According to Porsche, the first club celebrating the renowned sports car brand was created in 1952, known as Westfälischer Porsche Club Hohensyburg. Over 70 years later, there are more than 700 official Porsche clubs, with around 240,000 members. Porsche has long embraced these clubs, offering exclusive perks to its members.
In 2012, Porsche announced the release of the 911 Club Coupe, designed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Porsche Clubs worldwide. Just 13 examples of this 991-based special edition were built, honoring the 13 founding members of the first official Porsche Club and making it quite possibly the rarest Porsche 911 variant ever. The Club Coupe was desirably specified with the Sport Design package – which adds the iconic ducktail spoiler – X51 Powerkit, Sport Techno wheels in body color, PCCB carbon ceramic brakes, unique door sills, and PASM suspension. To acquire the Club Coupe, one had to win a lottery, which was limited to 12 cars, as one was retained by Porsche themselves for their museum. Each of these remarkable machines was handed over to their respective buyers at a lavish dinner hosted by Wolfgang Porsche in Stuttgart.
This Club Coupe was originally delivered to Mike and Pauline Windsor, and it is one of just two built in right-hand drive, with this the sole example delivered to the UK and fitted with a PDK transaxle. A copy of a fascinating pamphlet accompanies the car, which includes a letter directly from Dr. Wolfgang Porsche to Mr. Windsor, as well as an explanation of the dark green color used, and photos of other green cars from the Porsche family’s past. Numerous photos of this Club Coupe during production are also shown, highlighting the special nature of this offering.
The consignor worked for Porsche UK in late 60s and his wife’s first car was a 356, so naturally their life has been somewhat dominated by the marque. While Porsche originally announced that the Club Coupe was finished in Brewster Green, after the consignor took delivery of his special-ordered 992 GTS finished in supposedly “matching” Brewster Green, he realized his Club Coupe was another color altogether. After some investigation, it was found that the color of the Club Coupe was based on Wolfgang Porsche’s personal 993 Turbo S, and it is not offered in Porsche’s paint-to-sample range, making this “Family Green” exclusive to the Club Coupe.
Showing just 7,895 miles at the time of cataloguing, this Club Coupe has seen just two owners since new, and it is accompanied by one of only 250 copies of a book done on the club anniversary, as well as a rare Club Coupe brochure and build sheet. As one of just 13 factory-built editions, and wearing a color that cannot be ordered, this exceptionally scarce and well-presented 911 offers a chance to own a piece of Porsche history.

That estimate seems low, no? 991 Speedsters make that much and there are 150 times as many of those.

Monterey boasted the greatest line up since ’67, the year Otis crossed over. First up at Monterey Jet Center was the Safari RS. Bid to $2.2m it would have equalled the most expensive 2.7RS sold at auction had it made reserve. You can ‘buy it now’ for $2.4m
https://www.broadarrowauctions.com/vehi ... ari-rallye
The Taki Racing 906120 sold at $1.85m, $2.04m with buyer’s premium
https://www.bonhams.com/auction/28011/l ... o-906-121/
Sotheby’s lot 227, 9112301609 RS development car made $685k, $759k with buyer’s premium. While considerably less than the $1.325m RS prototype 9113600012 made in 2018, this was good money for a 2.4S, albeit one modded with prototype ducktail, 2.7 and paint the colour of 1980s fashion socks from Erith market. Had Singer carried out these modifications rather than just the factory, the ensuing fluorescent hole may have sucked all the money from the world

The live stream was down for the first and more original of the Spyders 718060 but it passed against an estimate of $5.5-$6.5m
https://www.goodingco.com/lot/1960-porsche-rs60-1/
Restored ’56 Le Mans class winning 550 Coupe was a pass at $5m against an estimate of $5.5m - $7.5m

If real, it must be a 914 shell on a custom chasis, the drive shafts would never angle that far static, let alone in full droop?
However, sure looks good!

Oh ye of little faith... It was built by Gunnar Racing (the Porsche team more often associated with rebuilding 917s and such like), using a flat six and Porsche trans.911hillclimber wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 12:10 pm If real, it must be a 914 shell on a custom chasis, the drive shafts would never angle that far static, let alone in full droop?

This looks very nice, bit short on words though. A bit of front end lower and rear end higher.... Gotta love a red T5, (well I do anyway) W
