Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Put a stone through the Boxster washer bottle fitted to my SC on the CLM trip, so bought another. Also hit some overhanging branches at the weekend and my external glass DAB aerial went AWOL.
The new (to me, anyway) washer bottle lasted as far as Hamble (less than 40 miles).
So, in between far too much gardening for SWMBO the last two days (punishment / payback for doing Cowes Week followed by some instructing & off again tomorrow for another week’s instructing), first the aerial was replaced. Then, rather than buying yet another washer bottle, I tried some plastic welding. Success. So far, both washer bottles are holding water once more.
I refitted the latest one, lowered the car and noticed that in full left lock, the wheel fouled the bottle. Some gentle persuasion (lump hammer on the end of a long pry bar) on the bracket, and Houston, we have clearance.

That would make a great Outlaw bonnet badge when you have bolted it on.
Good going, there would have been some sharp cars in there.
Always good to get a pot!

Picked up my new car yesterday. I cannot believe how amazing the engine is. It is savage! Love it.
Of to meet Rob and Chris soon to go to Megaphonics.
Few bits to sort like wheels but very pleased.

Too low for brake test rollers ? … so alternative is old school lit in the footwell and brake test on the road ? . It’s what my old mot man had to doRobFrost wrote:I dropped the 996 Turbo off for its MOT yesterday. Took a photo of the mileometer when I did.

Oh and they gave the car best of show, which was a bit weird as I just went to look at all the other cars not win anything… happy with that though

That’s what mine does for mine fitted with an LSD - so benefit of the doubt they might have considered the 996 to have one and not want to risk busting it in the rollershot66 wrote:Too low for brake test rollers ? … so alternative is old school lit in the footwell and brake test on the road ? . Not exactly today but got couple things sorted out for my 911 during summer holidat. These have been in todo-list since I got the car at the end of last year.
#1 - a painful task of getting the Fuchs detailed:
#2 - also quite labor intensive task to restore original wood rimmed wheel which had seen better days. Both wheel itself and butterfly horn now looks good to me. Chrome ring and leather are new, all black parts painted and wood parts fixed, sanded and oil treated. Looks to me a lot better than Nardi it used to have.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Ordered some new tyres (fresh set of 195/55x15 Toyo R888Rs) to go on some new wheels – hot off the press from Group 4 Wheels, 6 x 15 Campy!
Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
A few things over the weekend
Stripped out an old toad alarm, tidying up the wiring, cleaning fuse panel etc, stripped out Kenwood stereo and associated iPod connection etc - lots of cables. Fitted retro style Bluetooth radio. Set up washer system, cleaned trunk area and order new front wheel bearings. Front shock replacement also required, most likely go for boge or Bilstein.
