Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
I've always been close to getting one when they were cheap! Not sure I would consider one now given the prices

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
I have always been tempted, it must by my masochistic streak!
The first Porsche I ever drove was a similar guards red S1 4.5 auto wearing an S plate. It was a friend of my boss’s car and he generously let me (as a 20 year old) take it for a spin round the lanes in Surrey one night. I love the look of the headlights at night elevated from the wings, and the feel of the effortless acceleration. It did feel large though, compared to my Polo Coupe S! Happy days….

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
Spoke at length to a guy with one still in his garage (3 years in there) at a local car show a few weeks ago.
Nothing but horror stories, but the worst bit is/was the electrics.
He and an expert (mobile car electrics guy) had spent hours on it doing each function one by one.
Sounded like nothing either worked or worse still was intermittent.
He had to do the whole engine, body was good, paint needed (red) and the costs were getting too big, but he was also too deep into the car to bail-out.
Mind you, he still loved it!

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
Electrics were my car’s downfall - the relay and fuse board located under the passenger footrest was permanently damp thanks to a leaking windscreen. Fuses would corrode leading to sundry failures, usually the fuel pump. But what a car (when it ran)!

Spotted not one, but two burgandy 959s at Bicester Heritage on Saturday: One was a prototype that I'm pretty sure was using a '72 oil door

That might have been Phil Taysom’s 959 in a previous life.
Well done on the award Gary. Car looks great in the hanger.

Mike

1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.
