Re: Dunlop Racing L and M sections
I would concur with Graham's post above.
Several hillclimbers went to the Dunlop stand at Race Retro over the weekend as I did, and 2 managed to discuss out plight to people there from Dunlop (racing)'
Could be an annoncement soon on a positive nore.
I will have a very hard time with tyres, and if I carry on (this might knock my hillclimbing days on the head) I expect to re-wheel the car to 17" and run road tyres.
Doubt converting to radials is more than more negative camber?

Have a look at Hoosier sizes Graham. The Hoosier distributor in the UK was very keen to take advantage of the demise of Avon.

A class mate of mine 20+ years ado tried then, never stopped swearing. He drove to and from the hills on them too.
Time has passed on, so very much worth watching.
Iirc they now have a UK office.

We might be trying out the Hoosier slicks for our ff2000 series and I'm the designated tester! If so, I'll report back

That will be good Graham.
Avon hillclimb slick heats up y quickly from the start line
From 20 deg C on the start, all 4 tyres will be around 35C, maybe 40 at the end of many UK hills.

Are you sure about those temps the tyres reach graham.
I have looked at hoosier,i cant see a soft enough compound, really struggling to get a rear tyre.

Re: Dunlop Racing L and M sections
No I am not sure Paul.
At the top of Loton I check the temps simply by the palm of my hand across the tyre faces. The rears are at about shower temperature, fronts far cooler, but I'm hardly a 'front runner'.
The temps on the 1100cc class that usually follow me are much hotter.
This tyre situation is a major issue, and marks the end of our special tyres for sure.
