More spigot photos for Jan the spigot geek!

Haha, thank you very much for that!
I really like the block‘s surface treatment. Is that staining/etching (this was done to my mag 915 housing lately) or a type of chromate?
A fantastic engine builder indeed he is.
Thanks,
Jan

Yes, all magnesium surfaces are chromated (look at my gearbox photos as well) and any aluminium is cerakoted to match, where appropriate.
And yes, Sam is a truly exceptional engine builder.

I really dig the looks!
Discussed the etch treatment of my gearbox housing today with my engine builder: he confirmed it was glass-bead prior to dip-coating the housing (only 2 companies left in Germany that do it).
For the engine case it would have needed a lot more prep work, resulting in a 4k€ price tag for the full treatment. So transparent wax will do…
For chromate, I also know only one local guy offering this. Both gentlemen said that only rare blocks like 2.7 RS or 917 receive such a treatment.
Anyhow, very happy for you that such services are apparently readily available on the island.

More progress to report!
Minor rust to scuttle and around window frame and bottom of door shells all sorted and rear cross-member now fitted but some head scratching to do about the passenger side inner wing being half an inch shorter than the driver’s side - and yet the door gap is much bigger than expected (also about half an inch)!

Thanks. Who does Sam work for now?
Are the valve covers original or reproductions?
Keep up the good work.
