Way O/T but: Lotus 7 book?

Post by 911hillclimber »

I would like to get a 'reference' type book on the real Lotus Sevens, inc the IV but not much bothered about the 'Caterham Story' that some books fill 1/2 the content with.

Anyone on here please who can steer me to a good early 7 book?

.

A good start from a technical perspective would be "Lotus Seven - A Collector's Guide" by Jeremy Coulter ...

The Tony Weale book is the bible. It reproduces alot of the data from the original owners manuals (which you can certainly get repros of).

Thank you all, I saw a great book today, history, lots of detail, the Caterhams and the knock-offs, but it was a signed copy and £30 in Hay on Wye.
I'll have a look on ebay etc and Pooks etc at Silverstone end of August.

I've always loved these cars, it was the first car I could draw convincingly well on a wall or a diary, i was spell bound by the Prisoner.

Specifically Lotus Graham, or including the Caterham years?

Really up to the Caterham buy out, but I think most authors see that as part of the story, so maybe unavoidable.
One I glimpsed through yesterday had a lot of early car pics and diagrams but light on the Caterham/westfield etc cars.
Wished I'd bought it now! (£30)

I am keen to 'hunt-down' some such books at events, more interesting that simple purchases. :)
