Lots of bits for my 356 arrived this week.

New solenoid from Germany. The solenoid in the new starter got stuck. I've started with 12v battery but now I've fitted a new solenoid to the old starter. I added a bit of grease and I'm going to out back in.

Gaskets for between the manifold and Weber to stop the carbs heating up. Came from Poland This made a massive difference in my 914 to warm restarts.

Fred Winterburn 6v CD system from Canada. Fred has been a pleasure to deal with.

They will be added in the order above

First day of the new season at Anglesey. New engine (2.7), and about 50kg weight loss so a bit different to last year. So far found 3 seconds against my prev PB and 4th overall in the whole event, so going rather well!

It makes the hours and hours of work doing the conversion worthwhile

3 seconds a lap is very significant. Congratulations

Thanks Neil. The improvement is a bit flattered by it being the two lap (well 1&3/4s) of the National circuit. We are doing a single lap of the International tomorrow, but it looks like a certainty of a wet day.

Still, I am nearly 5 seconds quicker than I ever achieved in the 914/6, which on paper at least was a faster car
