Gary, thanks. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Still some fuelling issues, might need to have the pump rebuilt....again :( . Had to have the car bare metalled twice so if wouldn't surprise me.

If something can go wrong on this build it has.

Thanks goodness Gary has the patience of an Jedi master.

I jumped overboard many weeks ago. :banghead:

So just short of 8 years later, two bare metal resprays while it was being rebuilt :?, didn't ever expect to have to do that. That in itself sounds simple but it brought complications such as a door skin that needed stretched  . In any event its 90 % finished, just the interior to sort and it will be 100%. The car arrived last night around 10pm. Just awesome to finally see it. Gary has done an amazing job on the car, it really is an new old car. Only manged a short drive so far but not a squeak or bump from anywhere, everything feels just right. Mike Bainbridge rebuild the engine but I had almost forgotten he also rebuilt the gearbox a few years ago, it is so good - solid and really precise.

More pictures will follow but these are from my phone last night and today.

Thanks everyone. 50 or so miles tonight with my wife, running reasonably well. Just loud enough that she didn't want to talk over the engine noise. :)

My own fuel pump has arrived so keen to get this on and the car tuned, running rich and slightly hesitant at times, better on fuller throttle.

Absolutely loving the colour.

What a colour and like all your cars, done to the highest standards. I like the ride height.

In the photo above, that knobbly texture on/above the mounting bosses of the Bosch pump … do we think it was cast in that way to add strength?
