I think that might be a little unfair Angus! We don't really know what goes on. I for one was impressed that he was down on the track!
I think he made a decision with some backing in the rules. We also don't know how he and his team operate to make decisions like those. For me the problem is the fact that the FIA comms to him gets some airtime. A tiny and not very flattering insight into those processes.

Re: Abu Dhabi GP
Why isn't LH a Brit? He was born north of London. Rob sorry but comment is stepping over a line. You can't be saying that because he now lives abroad he isn't British. You would have to include Russell and Button too.anglophone1 wrote:Monaco nationality = Monégasque - not many of them! Introduce a tax on flying the British flag.911hillclimber wrote:I've never been an F! fan wife is
This time I wanted LH to win, an 8th Championship so a record for a Brit.

Sounds good because I think you are wrong also. So we can leave it at that.knapmann wrote:

I know. What an idiot. Everyone knows F1 is the first key on the top row of your keyboard.yoda wrote: Come on Jason, just accept that none of us have a clue about F1 and probably didn't even watch the race!

Merc not pursuing protest/appeal any further
Re: Abu Dhabi GP
Which is very sensible given that the FIA court is sooooo unlikely to find in their favour.one-two wrote:Merc not pursuing protest/appeal any further
Probably a fools errand from the off, but I can understand why it was so important to them.
I've no idea why I think it and I'm sure I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis called it a day at this point.

Re: Abu Dhabi GP
Interesting thread, and here’s the MB statement Robert referred to:
https://www.mercedesamgf1.com/en/news/2 ... -dhabi-gp/
Their feeling of injustice comes across clearly.
I hope the consistency of race direction is improved next season.
Even better if they can discourage the lunging block-pass, with its ‘bail out or crash’ attitude.

Hope you are wrong Graham, but you can see how it could go that way.
LH has done it all, the 8th would have put him at the absolute top of the Stats charts, the very best ever, let alone this generation.
A new fresh warrior with everything to prove for 2022 in the team, and maybe Toto has had enough and will step aside with LH.
I feel LH has that 8th still there in his mind, and the Team will be even more motivated to correct things next year.

I hope LH / Toto / Mercedes sees it as unfinished business and shows them who is boss!

I agree. I thought Lewis might retire if he won, but would be surprised if he wants to with that backdrop….

Give it time, I reckon LH and Toto will carry on....right now, all too raw....but I think he will give it another go - one more attempt to get that 8th title.

All this hinting at retirement because it didn't go their way for once strikes me more as being the "I not playing anymore and I'm taking the ball home" attitude.

To be fair. The only person hinting of retirement here is me! And I don't think I have that much influence!Ants wrote:All this hinting at retirement because it didn't go their way for once strikes me more as being the "I not playing anymore and I'm taking the ball home" attitude.
