glue for sticking boot rubber seals down ?

Post by oldtimer »

I have got to remove old rubberand put a new synthetic rubber seal in my front boot 914.

As its going direct onto painted metal , assume I want something that wont be strong enough to pull the paint off ?

What is recommended ?

I think you need weatherstrip adhesive, rather than high temp contact adhesive. I use Permatex super weather strip adhesive - its a US product, but available in various places over here. I think I got mine via Ebay UK... I think there is an equivalent 3M product available too...
