Best touch-up paint kit

Post by Gduplock »

Hi,

I'd like some advice on what members think is the best touch-up paint kit available for my 1968 Polo Red 6802 911L. Been resprayed about 4 years ago and have a few little scratches/chips I want to attend too.

Thanks in advance.

Paint can be mixed to the same formula, especially if like yours the paint is relatively new, if you go to a car paint supplier and give them the Porsche code they can mix you a spray can or a touch-up, some car parts places can also do it, but sometimes their information does not cover classic colours (had this with my Lotus Elan recently), so you need to go to a trade supplier.

There are also places where they can scan the car itself and mix up paint to match.

If you go to your local motor factors and ask them, the chances are they will be able to direct you to someone local.
Cheers

Best thing is simply to visit your local paint supplier and get them to match a small amount to sample. The more savvy will scan the existing paint to get an exact match.

.

I usually buy a small 'touch up' pot of paint for any 'classic' car I own & have been amazed at how accurate the colours turn out to be when ordered on-line solely by quoting the original paint code.

I order from here:
