No idea about the car, but my 1960 356 was originally registered with YOB 3 as it’s plate. On the AFN kardex YOB 3 November 1960. Then according to the kardex was changed to 5 EYX in 1967. Not sure when it got its current number.

Funny how this was a common occurrence back in the day, my AFN car too was originally registered with a different number to the one it currently displays.
Funny thing is though, I think I prefer this to it’s original!

Interestingly the asking price for YOB3 (the car) has just dropped significantly from £140,000.
It doesn't matter if you speak your mind, because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.......!
Lusting after a 30/98, will settle for a 23/60.

ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PPPPPPOUNDS? are they mad? I suppose if you say the number plate is worth 40k, I guess they're in the right kind of ball park for an offer...
