2.2 Distributor Questions

Post by steve wright »

can anyone enlighten me on the shaft size (oer), as i understood there are two different sizes for the early engines, and direction of rotation (again, one clockwise and one counter...) for my 1970 2.2S engine please.....

thanks in ignorance...

All 2.0 & 2.2 litre engines have distributors with the same size shaft

All 2.4 & 2.7 litre engines have distributors with the same size shaft (but larger than the earlier engines).

All of the above run clockwise (when viewed from above).

The distributors on later (SC) models run counter-clockwise.
