I don't know if he's still around - I remember one of his cars in particular - an Aquamarine' Speedster ...
.
I used to own that - or certainly an Aquamarine Speedster, I bought it via Ritchie who was selling on behalf of Mike Neal ( ? ) who was fairly well renowned within PCGB. I'm sure there aren't many Aquamarine Speedsters around so I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same car !
Yes - same car Steve !

Can't find the thread on here, but it's already been discussed. Basically a LHD car that was bought from the factory by an Australian who used it for sometime in Europe then booked it into a German Porsche dealer to have it converted to RHD so he could take it home with him. As RHD cars were very new (I believe the chassis number of this car falls within a number or two of the first few RHD 911s), there is every chance the dealer had never seen one, so made certain assumptions, one being that the gauges would be transposed compared to a LHD car, another being that the ignition key would remain on the left side of the steering column. Under the boot there are significant differences to a production RHD model, too.
The debate is how do you value such a car? It has a proven history showing when and where it was converted and the fact it was done by a Porsche dealer in period makes it interesting. But value?

I remember Mike Neal and his speedster. He used to host 356 meetings at his house, I can remember us hitting golf balls into his pond (not sure why) and him giving rides in the trailer attached to his (Porsche) tractor.
