could be the relay, but if its similar to a VW wiper motor inside the motor/gear unit itself there is a blade like contact switch that often gets dirty corroded or bent out of action, that may be the problem

Nige,

Thanks, will take a look at the relay, if not looks like a wiper motor strip...

Mine never park either, I'm just a master of the art of timing turning them off now! :)

Andre

Just quoting the Haynes 911 manual

Sympton:
Motor runs when switched off, or will not park blades in the correct position

Possible fault:
Contacts in cover faulty. Earth wire from terminal 31b to switch an earth faulty.

Doesn't show any pictures or diagram

Nige, Many thanks again. I have been suspecting a few earth problems as I am getting a few spurious electrical gremlins. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Its funny, but as Gary states, you get a nack of parking the wipers youself, it almost becomes a challenge to get them parked as low down as possible!

Thanks again.

They just won't park at over 90mph! I end up sticking them over on the passenger side to get them out of the way :)

I had the same problem, theres two electrical connectors inside the motor that tell it where the rest position is on of them had worn down so I just put a spot of soilder on it and sanded it flat, worked perfect ever since, took 2 hours of my time much cheaoer than the 100+ for a new motor!
