Got my 74-77 qtr today.
Transported it home in my old fiesta zs.
Like a tardis that thing, swallowed the qtr whole.

Quick check the arches, pretty much OK.

Gives me a bit of room to get in and strip the crud off. I know the kidneys a bpost is new but the recess/ledge over the back of the tank is full o crud. Will strip n zip and hopefully find it to be solid bar the obvious crusty bit.

Got to the top edge of the inner qtr in the nick of time. It looks bad but its actually v solid. Whether to refit the panel or swap the whole qtr is a different matter..

I have a turbo qtr but I can't be doing with fitting it and b post and aligning to door when my existing one is good. Think I'll put the panel back in and leave the factory qtr in place.

Like the boob i am I dragged the 911 out this morning and thought sod that I'll give my other project some love..

So for a change..

I've been meaning to change the front wire wheel over to the matching mag wheel for ages.

I've bit the bullet knowing the mag needeed the caliper swapping to the other side and unsure if all the mounting Gubbins would swap over.

Having put new bearing in the mag wheel and new seals I hit the following problems.

1 the seal inner radius on the mag wheel was too small. No probs I can get another and pop that in later. I'll fit it without the seal for now as she isn't ridden

2 the speedo counter fits and lines up geat. Its just a bugger to do

3 the brake disk needs swapping as does the caliper to the rhs

4 the killer. The damned spindle is too large. The mag needs a narrower one.
Couldn't tap it through.

5 my tyre is on backwards (this was an arse go fit)

Bugger!

So all in , the 911 is far less hassle :)

Did manage to fit my centre stand though. Joy!

Tricky decision today. Idfitted a new b post then later cut off the rest of the rear qtr for access to the inner.

So, with a full qtr ready to go on should I cut my fitted new b post off and fit the full panel or leave the b post on the car and cut the one out of the full qtr.

Decision mAde I cut the new b post off the car..

Feels daft to be cutting a new panel off the car.. Still, illknow whether it's the right decision when the qtr goes on..

Welded the roof skin in place. Then ground it. Then welded it, then ground it, then welded, then.. Repeat repeat..

Hmm, I'm thinking the full skin roof is way easier

I've taken to avoiding the roof. Its a hateful thing, u recommend a full roof skin! So I started to trim my replacement qtr to go into place
