How do identify my distributor?

Post by Steven »

Hello,
I am sorry if I sound like a complete idiot, but how do identify which distributor is fitted to my vehicle, 050 or 009? It doesn't seem to be marked.

There is a plate which says ' Bosch Germany Importe D'Allemagne 0 231 129 022 then an arrow and then VJR4.

I have pictures from the web of each distributor and they both look the same.

Any help appreciated.

009 and 050 distributors usually have 009 or 050 as the last 3 figures of the Bosch part number.

Is your dizzy from an early 912, i think (and don't quote me) 022 dizzy's were on really early cars.

Some of the 912 guru's will no doubt chime in shortly

That's the fellow in the Nick Moss picture labelled 0231129022.

Anyone know anything about them?
Is it correct for a 356c?
Are they any good?

Cheers

Hmm...

The mist is beginning to clear, at least it probably will when I give this information to the mechanic.

Cheers for the link Fraser

What you have got to remeber is that the 022 you have is over 30 years old it has 30+ years worth of wear in it, so it may work fine but I would look out for a 050 if you can as for the 009 for now you could make a decorative item out of in the garden??

050's are discontinued as of last month...:-( but there may be a few about. But don't panic later next month 009's are being converted in to 050's so they can be bought for your 912's 356's
