I know.

Is there a prize?

It belongs to a Theo Paphitis lookalike whose name nearly rhymes with small heathens.

It was also discussed on here a while back when the previous owner bought it. Maybe a year or so ago. Can't find it now.

Ah that one.....

http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=38166

Thought it looked familiar.

Just note what the advert does offer, no what it doesn't and everyone will be happy.

you mean like the ad says "the history file contains the C of A" - does not mean that that is what the car conforms to

From what PS says it's a very nice car. Not original in colour, interior, gearbox etc but nice.

Porsche 911 SWB 2.0 L - No Reserve - Auction 6/3 For Sale by Auction (1968)
Estimate: £18,000 - £25,000 Registration Number: XPX 42F Chassis Number: 11810682

Last year's Coy's Spring Classics. Be interested to see what it gets now. I bid on this last year and lost as I thought the price had got too high for me. I also looked at a red 1968 2.0 L that sold at Silverstone last year when it was on for private sale - it's estimate at auction was considerably below that when it was noted that it was not matching no.s - must look to see what that went for. That one was probably better condition, but the blue one has some nice (if not original) features - great colour inside and out, working sun-roof etc.

I think both of those swb cars are very pretty and seem reasonably priced at around the £30k mark. Red is not my favourite colour but for the second car I would happily make an exception!

As for the slight mark up at "The School Garage" .... do they ever sell any of their stock? I've seen the same cars on their site for years. I'm wondering if it is just a front for some other(shady) business?
The force is strong in this one ......

I agree with that observation especially when you consider the following car on offer by William Crawford which is described as "A good prospect for a restoration" and is being offered for sale at £22k

The red car is actually a very nice prospect for someone, having seen it in the 'flesh'. Not cheap, though, but what is these days!

£30,000 ish may seem reasonable, but you must add 15% for the auction house and VAT. This will add £4,500 to the hammer price.
