Clutch change - 996 (!)

Post by MdR »

Can anyone give me a quick potted guide to changing the clutch on a Y-plate 996 C4 ...
(and suggesting taking it to a specialist/dealer is not the kinda response I'm hoping for  )

C4..!! yep buy a new one..C4 that is..

How about having a look over on Pelican parts forum for newer Porsches they might even have a tech section for just this job. It's a good site and worth routing about some people have listed how to do's and they are good.

Modern Haynes manual version:

1. Disconnect battery
2. Remove gearbox
3. Remove clutch
4. Fit new clutch
5. Refitting is the reverse of removal....

Glad to be of service.....   :reindeer:

Or have a look at March 2004 911 and Porsche World. They mention in this months 964 to 993 gearbox article that they covered this back then.

Happy Xmas!!
