Engine enthusiasts needed for opinion

Post by 356california »

Hi everyone,

I wondered if you could all put your opinion in on an argument a friend and i are having.

In my porsche rep i have a 1776cc engine with twin 36 dellorto carbs, engle cam, stainless ported, polished valves etc etc, Imagine a very well tuned 98bhp 1.8 aircooled engine with little expense spared and 3000 miles use.

We both have an opinion on its value if sold on its own, theoretically for use in something else VW.....

Obviously being the owner of said engine my opinion is higher than his. My wonderment is everyone else thinks its worth??

A bit of fun but will settle an argument!

Thanks

VZi is probably best for pricing, but I'll have stab at around £1.5k inc carbs depending who built it and the what brand parts were used.

I'd agree with Nige there, £1500 to sell but way more to build!
