.... we are planning on staying in a hotel at the Nurburgring ;)

.... how about a day trip / scenic drive through the Eifel region, stopping off en-route to catch some evening historic racing at the Spa 6 hours ;) , before heading back to the hotel for some local beers ;)

Gentle cruise to Spa sounds good James , it's a very scenic area

One more for the pot if there's room for a long thin one !

I've visited the Ring 3 times and never found it less than drenched each time. Hopefully you guys will break my string of bad luck. Either that or you can join me for another white knuckle drive through the standing water !!

Might even persuade Sarah to come along as well. I'll tell her you've booked some dry weather !

Chris, the plan is we'll be at the hotel in Nurburg on Fri, Sat & Sun .... there will also be an option for people to stay on for more nights if they want ( or arrive earlier )

Andrew, the ring might not be open due to the possibility of a race event taking place.

For reference, 'DDK' are not planning any organised driving on the ring, but if open, people are free to do so at their own risk.

I don't want people put off from attending this event because they think it is a DDK 'ring trip' .... it's not. Nurburg has been chose as a good 'petrolhead' base for touring the eifel mountain region :) , There is a great atmosphere at the place. We are there to enjoy region & it roads, not specifically for driving the ring :)
