One Owner From New, Just Neads A Little T.L.C. !
1974 model year 2.0, bought in Hamburg, Germany in November '73 where the owner was working at the time.
Registered in London October '74.
The car was used for many years and taken on many mainland European trips including when they went skiing.
The car was re-sprayed in the 1980's.
In 1988 the car was serviced with new brake discs and pads fitted, o/s door handle replaced and a MOT.
The car was parked up in a backyard with a concrete base.
The owner was spending more and more time out of the country working.
His wife would checked on the car every now and again, as they did not live at the location.
On one inspection found the o/s glass smashed and the radio stolen.
The owner always planned to get the car back on the road, but never got round to it.
The car at sometime got covered up, but due to the wind blowing it off, the back boot lid was the only bit covered!
Water in the engine bay eventually rusted a hole in the left & right engine shelf and then the water could get inside the box seal section.
22 years it sat there, before I got the job of removing it, so the plot of land it was sitting on could be sold.
It still has the cleanfilm on the stearing wheel from the MOT test.
Front luggage conpartment floor is good as well as the main floor pan and a little rust in the rear boot in the corners but no holes.

know of a few cars like that over the years.
Often start off needing a little bit of work to perfect them (a small patch, a partial re-spray, engine rebuild). For the first 5-10 years, enthusiasts knock on the door and offer a fair price to buy it (and actually restore it) but are turned down because a full resto is just round the corner.
Eventually time and the elements have their way.
At least mine is in a dry garage and half done

Been looking through my parts bins today to see what parts I have in stock.
Looks like I need a battery tray and support, engine mounts, jack support plate and tube, outer right suspension mount, inner rocker, sill plate and the other half of floor pan.
Have doors, bonnet and boot lid, front and rear bumper irons, rear valance, outer rockers.
Front wings are repairable and near side rear wing repairable also.
I think I'm pushing my luck to have it finished for the International next weekend.

Good luck with that one. Nice project if you've got a spare couple of years. Why put the battery back in the stock position - surely one of the luggage compartments is a better alternative - or are you aiming for a councours example?
