'73 RS colours
Hello there,
Does anyone have any idea of how many RS Tourings
were originally spec'd with black paint?
Has anyone seen one? If so how do they look?
Cheers,

Hi
The Black RS look is Awesome ...I had a black RS Rep . They look great when clean but they are almost impossible to keep that way and ANY imperfections in paint, gaps or fit is amplified by black.

The black RSs are spectacular !!
There was a sunroof one came here in the late '70s from the UK via a Qantas steward and was shown at several PC New South Wales concours to great admiration.
It went through several owners hands and after restoration went to Japan in the late '80s for aus$200k so the rumour goes !!
Its back here somewhere now changing hands for a lot less on its way back !
Cheers,
Dennis.

I think the plastic 'Carrera RS' badge was originally used on Touring models that were optioned without the side & ducktail decals.Anyone know why some cars came with a cast metal rear badge and others with a decal?

That makes sense as I came across a rhd black 911 last year in a village in Hertfordshire and when I talked to the owner he told me it was an RS factory optioned without the decals, whale tail, and it had the plastic badge. It also had the rs front spoiler, and black seats with red/green tartan inserts - an awesome car, I assume the owner knew what it was worth...
