Factory tyres on the 6&7x16 Fuchs were Pirelli P7!

Re: New 930 3.0 Turbo & 3.0 Carerra tyres 205 & 225/50YR15 P

1976 model year sport option had 7&8x15, 1977 had 6&7x16.

Only the Turbo had 7&8x16

Re: New 930 3.0 Turbo & 3.0 Carerra tyres 205 & 225/50YR15 P

Jon,

The Porsche option codes often changed from year to year. In 1976 M395 was Pirelli P7 tyres and could be fitted to a number of 15" rims. In 1977 M395 was Pirelli P7 tyres fitted to 6&7x16 Fuchs.

Andy,

Thanks for spotting the error, I have edited the post.

Re: New 930 3.0 Turbo & 3.0 Carerra tyres 205 & 225/50YR15 P

The sizes here were fitted to a few 1976 model year Carrera 3.0s (VIN 911 66........) that came with option M395. This option included a re-calibrated speedo to compensate for the lower rolling circumference of these tyres. 1977 model year Carrera 3.0s with option M395 came with 16" Fuchs with ...

Re: Nigel Sellicks (NigelC210) R.I.P.

Sadly I never got around to meeting Nigel although I did speak to him on the phone a couple of times and exchanged numerous emails. As already pointed out he was extremely knowledgeable about the 2.7 Carreras, he did in fact sell his a couple years ago to Paul Stephens. As Nick Moss says he tracked ...

Re: Red Madras Fabric 1973-75

Thanks Mike,

The one you mention was actually supplied by the importer in Eire so is not Included in the six supplied by AFN.

I know where the chassis and running gear went but not the engine.

At the time it was considered not economical to restore but things might have swung since then.

Re: Red Madras Fabric 1973-75

I have checked in now, from deepest Devon with only sporadic Internet.

Apologies to Tom that my text had been ambiguous and I do have details of 'pht9' 's car.

Re: Carrera 2.7 book - Snodgrass

Dennis, Happy Christmas to you too. Unfortunately my Carrera 2.7 is still mostly in boxes but the bodyshell looks rather better than when you saw it ! Interestingly David Withers had heard from Porsche Australia that there was a third 1975 Carrera 2.7 Targa sold in Oz. It was apparently in Lime Gree...

Finally got mine today at the third attempt but certainly worth the wait, Ryan has done an absolutely fantastic job.

Re: Numbers, numbers

I am more familiar with the early impact bumper cars but the information in the 'V pages' section of the '70-'73 parts catalogue is at variance with the other sources cited here. The information in the catalogue gives engine numbers 610 5001 on as the 911/07 engine for USA & Canada with the 911/...

Re: 74 Carrera Euro Spec vs 74 Carrera US Spec price differe

It was 175 bhp for 1974 models but 165 bhp and even less in California for 1975 models due additional emissions equipment.
