Re: Gordon Murray documentary ..,

rvzz, just spotted you have a DS. I'm seriously envious - that plus a hot 911 is quite a pair!

Re: Goodwood FOS

I'm just back from my first time there too. So much is right about it I hope it's not my last. I took my dad - he'd never seen or heard an F1 up close, I think it blew his mind a little bit! Down-side is a 2.5hr drive each way for me, so even an early start gets us there mid-morning. Next time a hot...

2.7RS 'pop art' pictures

A couple of years ago at the Autosport show I was taken by a couple of pop-art style pictures of a 2.7RS, one from the front 3/4 view and a similar one of the rear 3/4, showing the duck tail. They were about 18" or 2' square, in bright primary colours, orange or lime green istr. I wasnt so take...

Re: BBC4 - madness on wheels: rallyings craziest years

Those cars were mega - I was passed (in my Triumph Herald...) by a Delta S4 going between stages back in the day & it was like a jet fighter going by! Interestingly, the cars are almost certainly slower than WRC cars but they didn't look it in the footage. I guess they were just closer to the ed...

Harper

Did anyone catch this film last week? Paul Newman as a private eye in 1960's LA, trying to find a missing millionaire. All pretty standard fare, except his car - a soft-top 356! There were some great overhead shots of it being driven in a spirited fashion up a dirt road in the hills. Good stuff, plu...

Ace Cafe Porsche evening meets

Hi Folks, I guess you haven't missed me, but I've not been around on here for a few weeks due to work & bikes taking up my time, plus my 911 has been working, so no technical traumas to overcome! Have I missed anything exciting? I see the Ace Cafe has monthly Porsche meets in the evening (next o...

At the risk of saying 'me too', I really enjoyed #5 too! Two gorgeous 356's, the racey looking '72 and the 906 article were personal highlights. I've yet to read the article about the guy who looks like the keyboard player from Sparks - didn't realise you were covering classic bands as well? Cheers,...

Hi Oilman, I have a couple for you - I have a 1972 911 2.4TE, that is a California spec mechanical injection 2.4 making 150bhp (Woo!). I do a couple of thousand miles a year, using it for relatively short journeys in the summer, not driving massively hard, but do encounter a bit of traffic. Which oi...
