914 drivers door window mech

help - my window keeps dropping down as the window mech pops out occasionally. I think one of the plastic guide wheels has gone a bit oval and worn so that it pops out of the guide track.

I have the later style scissor type mech, not the earlier cable style.

Also make sure the t piece under the back of the seat is the right way round as the longer cable needs to be pulled further than the shorter one. Having the t piece that pulls the cable the flipside of what it should be would mean giving much more mechanical advantage to the shorter cable. The longe...

I hear you on that one Robster - I bought a big pair of water pump pliers and got a mate to clamp the top of the shock in the wheel arch while I swung on the top nut and that did it but they are a pain as the whole ...

luckily didnt need your last option! managed to use the stanley knife/kitchen bread knife and some brute force. The trim was a bit fiddly to get off without damaging, i found the best way was to use a paint scraper slid under the outer part of the trim and gently levered. The rust didnt look too bad...

sounds like you are sorted on the front. On the rears as Darren said you can get the hubs machined, I used 914-6 discs which i ordered from mittelmotor - they were quite reasonable, about £100 shipped i think. I took my hubs to a local guy who only charged me about £50 to drill & fit the new stu...

Fitted ok then bled the caliper using my ezbleed. went to set the venting on inner and outer. Outer works fine with adjuster but the inner adjuster doesnt exist!! I then took it all off a...

does anyone know where to get these wheels re-trimmed for a good price or but a kit to retrim them? Mine is missing the leather which gives it a skinny grip.

Guess i could go down the driving gloves route 8)
