Trailing arms
I have bought a 1972 S 'project'. It is currently fitted with aluminium trailing arms and i want to put it back to standard, i.e. steel. So, before i launch into a purchase, I wanted to understand what are the differences, if any, between T, E and S trailing arms and also between 911 and 912 trailin...

Re: T vs S spec MFI
So here is the schwimm……. hope you like! http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u20/Dougieboy1/schwimm.jpg She is my pride and joy. Highest body number so technically the last of the line. According to the marque experts, she was most likely 1 of 6 built by the British in 1946 using parts found in Wolfs...

Re: T vs S spec MFI
will post some schwimmer photos this evening. That spent 3 months in the body shop having holes converted back into metal! I once parked it next to a modern 911 in a supermarket car park and bemused the 911 owner by telling her it was also a Porsche.... not sure she had seen 'large machine gun' in t...

Re: T vs S spec MFI
the engine will need a full rebuild as it currently doesn't run. Its free to turn by hand but that's about all I can say so I am sure it has the wrong cam and is missing the drive wheel! I am assuming the worst so anything I find to be ok is a bonus!

Re: T vs S spec MFI
Thanks Nick - in the spirit of transparency, and further illustrating my lack of 911 knowledge, I should confess that I hadn't even spotted that it had carbs instead of MFI until you pointed it out from the photos! Look forward to hearing if a whole kit can be assembled! Sounded like the airbox was ...

T vs S spec MFI
Hi all, this is my first post and will easily demonstrate how much of a 911 novice I am. I just bought a 1972 911S project. It doesn't have its original engine but has a year correct S engine that someone equipped with carbs. I want to convert it back to MFI so it at least looks correct if not with ...
