Re: '72 2.4S

Nice touch aircooled, I'm sure the current owner of your old car would love the contact. I was fortunate to receive information on my car from a previous owner and it really adds something to it's history - on the hand I managed to track down a previous owner in Germany and despite a few contact att...

Re: Beware of this DDK'er

Why resort to a PM, if someone isn't acting as they should why not just post the fact? I look to DDK for information, knowledge and to search out the right people (and have happily used these recommendations) but I'd also like to know who to be wary of - ebay works perfectly well through positive an...

WANTED - REAR QUARTERS

A bit of a long shot but does anyone have new rear quarters (wings) that they aren't using for a while or know where I can obtain a pair? Part numbers: 911 501 061 00 GRV 911 503 062 03 GRV These have been ordered although they're back order with no firm date when they will be in stock. No real pani...

Re: Replacement gearknob,gater,h/brake handle for 993

I purchased a gear shift gaiter directly from Porsche Centre Swindon (part no. 993 424 075 00) earlier in the year - they can also still supply the handbrake although this was quite pricey.

Re: URGENT 911E ASSISTANCE REQUIRED PLEASE

Good luck mad rat and hope you enjoy the journey. My advice would be to go through and study the restoration threads, you'll learn so much here.

Look forward to seeing how you get, post plenty of photos please.

All the best,

Re: 66 LHD 'Doctors Car' restoration begins

I think John is selling himself a little short when he mentions keeping his in the 'same spirit as the factory' - my understanding is that his car is pretty much 'exactly' as it's meant to be and definitely a standard to aspire to 8) Your car looks like it's heading in much the same direction :cheer...

Re: Year of Manufacture

Thanks Andy I appreciate the reply. I was just checking DVLA website as my vehicle was registered in 1973 - the rule stipulates that it's manufacture and not date of registration that's the deciding factor so I should be ok :) Now all I do is get the car on the road before they change things! Cheers...

Re: Year of Manufacture

Interesting.... The CoA of my car states the Production Completion Date as 01/12/1972 (9113200575) whereas the V5 has the year of manufacture as 1973, being previously registered abroad. Does anyone know if I could revisit this with DVLA and get the year of manufacture changed? Free RFL would be ver...

Re: Paint Code Plate

Jon, you're a star, thank you.

Now all I have to find out is how the paint code (Light Ivory 1111) was stamped on the plate?

Many thanks,
Darren

Paint Code Plate

I foolishly failed to remove the paint code plate from the NS a-post of my 73 911 prior to the shell being media blasted - obviously it came back as toast!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement?

Many thanks,
Darren
