MFI advice

My 1969 911e has this issue. The car starts fine on the hand throttle and once started it warms up reasonably quickly and I can shut down the hand throttle within 5 mins or less. At that point the car runs perfectly. Once it gets properly hot though, it's less happy at lower revs. The tick over tick...

Re: Patina 912

I should give up trying to get any understanding of car values. In what world is a 912 (or 912 with 911 engine and some bits) worth £48,500, where I'd guess most would glance at it and think "rusty" or at best "needs work". Given the rest of the work that's gone on this car, why ...

1966 D Reg 912 Wimbledon wedding car

Spotted this morning in Wimbledon village. Not sure of the colour - looked beige to me.

Re: Would you insure with Admiral, Elephant, Diamond etc

Like Graham, I have the family fleet with Admiral, who have been fine, but they didn't used to be interested in classic cars. They now seem to be. Claims service is I guess most important, which I think probably depends more on the underwriter (Admiral, Hiscox, Groupama, Chaucer, etc), and less so o...

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

My wife owns a mid 80s Cartier Santos (back when they gave lifetime parts guarantee). We live in Wimbledon and I work in the City. Any recommendations for where to get it serviced would be welcome. Thanks.

I don't think tangerine is the same at all. This is signal orange. Tangerine is a much nicer colour!

Re: New 911R - a bargain!

$1.25m for a $186,000 car, that is some ask.

These stories (and it's not the first) about Porsche dealerships don't do their reputation any good at all. I wonder what head office really think of such behavior. Despicable in my view.

Re: Guaranteed Insurance Values - Requirements

I suspect RH Classic are RH Specialist Insurance and your insurer is probably Hiscox? My house ins is arranged by a v helpful girl at Bluefin in Southampton - she arranges insurance for my two cars through Hagerty - who also place my insurance with Hiscox, so I think my requirments are the same. The...

Bonnet badge

I don't know if this is a) genuine, b) any good for older Porsche cars, but this misspelt item is for sale on ebay, starting £50, if anyone needs such it may go cheap - Porshe! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/porshe-car-bonnet-badge-/252279785458?hash=item3abd0c07f2:g:86IAAOSwe-FU81Dp I bought a Babour ja...

I voted yes - for much the same reasons as Ian F. What you get for your money is the opportunity to spend even more money on things that you don't need!

Re: HELP ! Trisll Sports Cars have sold me a vin switch

Interesting report. I presume that it can be easily checked whether 306923S is a stolen car. Not sure where that leaves you legally; but I'd presume ok as you bought the car in good faith + you have the car and I presume its original owner is in the US! Do let us know how this works out - and good l...

You don't seem to have much luck. http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=38166&p=300601#p300601 This is a shocking tale and far worse than the blue 68L, which as far as I recall did turn out to be a matching numbers car, even if the auctionhouse wasn't as upfront as it might ha...

Re: David Bowie - RIP

Very sad news. Aladdin Sane - first album that I ever bought. I'd recently been thinking that I need to replace some of my old Bowie albums on cd - now I'd better do it.
