Good luck with the project Siim - it look likes you're at a similar point as myself.

Unfortunately I don't have your restoration skills so most of my work will be placed with recommended (and trusted) professionals - at least until the money runs out!!!!

All the best,
Darren

After 10 glorious days spent with family and friends in sunny Crete, eating (lots), diving (lots) and drinking (lots more!) it's time to crack back on with the project with a busy week planned..... The trailer I borrowed previously wasn't exactly road worthy and with no one hiring them locally and m...

Thanks John,

If you don't mind i'm just going to copy everything you've done on my project (or at least try) - if I can reach the same high standard i'll be one happy boy! :)

BTW - thanks to everyone else who have added their comments to your thread - these tips are invaluable.

Cheers,
Darren

John / Alan,

Can you tell me what process was used for the etch priming, was it just a conventional process or it was it dipped/charged in any way?

Many thanks,
Darren

Thanks John,

It was you that provided the encouragement and your thread that totally changed the direction I was going and I'm really thankful for that.

Looking forward to seeing how your car progresses and hope I can reach an equally high standard.

All the best,
Darren

Thanks Andy,

I do have a CoA and listed details on my restoration thread this morning.

I'd be grateful if you could look at this and interested to know how accurate you think it may be?

Cheers,
Darren

Cheers guys. I hope it is easy - still going back to bare shell though and doing things properly. CoA confirms original spec as: 911 E Coupe Sportomatic Light Ivory / 1111 Black leatherette, seat inlays pepita Stabilizer front and rear 15mm, 3-point safety belts, rear apron, additional high beam lam...

Does anyone know if there's a way of obtaining a copy of the original build sheet?

Thanks,

And there was me thinking you guys were probably some of the best..... Actually I wasn't referring to DDK as I've only just started using it. Now that I am using the forum though and hoping to absorb as much prime information as I can, I need to be sure - Who are the real 911 anoraks (in a good way ...

Thanks for the support Jonathan, Things had stalled over the last few months and I wasn't sure how I wanted to proceed, it was then suggested I look at JohnM's restoration thread and this focused my attention - a few calls and emails later and I have a clear plan going forward. More of that later - ...

I recently finished a 2CV restoration and am currently restoring an AK400 (2CV van) - the Mehari is basically a 2CV with a different body. As such parts are plentiful and fairly reasonably priced. A Mehari would be a good project if you can find one at the right money and great fun too. Worth lookin...

1973 2.4E Restoration

Having found JohnM's excellent restoration thread such a source of inspiration and knowledge that has changed the route I'm taking I thought I would start my own. So here goes: After many months of searching for an early 911 project - Destiny! You would have had to be quick to get this one - Adverti...

WHO TO TRUST?

After several months of research pending my 911 restoration i've received a fair bit of conflicting information and advice. Being a DDK newbie the question is: Whose replies to posts should you really trust, who are the fountains of all knowledge, the genuine Oracles who REALLY know early 911s? Don'...
