Re: Any speed survey experts?

I totally agree nine one one. I bought a mk1 golf gti in the Lake District 5 years ago. Went to quite a modern bungalow to collect where I met the vendors father. The son had to move to Cockermouth away from the local village. The father had a huge garden and had applied to build the son a house but...

Re: Any speed survey experts?

I have yet to hear of any application for a house in a local village where there are no objections. It is always the same selfish attitude. We have our nice house and we don't want any more! I always thought it was a mad idea giving locals the say as progress and building will stop completely! Just ...

Re: OT. BMW x3 wise words sought.

My Uncle had one and last year the crankshaft broke in two. When making investigations he found out his wasn't the first that this happened to. Only 80k on the clock.

Re: Road trip to the Arctic Circle 2020

I think you should buy 911Hillclimbers 2.9 boxster. A brilliant car for the trip. Lots of room with the 2 boots . I did a 3 week tour of France ,Italy,Switzerland,Germany and Belgium and my wife packs a lot of needless stuff.

Re: Am I getting old??

Maybe I am being too much of a sceptic but when you read on JCB website that it can do a whole days work subject to what kind of work it is, doesn't fill me with confidence. We all know how batteries deteriorate in a phone. I have a 20 year old tractor that works everyday on feed mixer wagon and it ...

Re: Am I getting old??

Moving on from electric cars, how do you think the haulage industry will change. Imagine the battery power needed to haul 44 tons up the motorway. Can you imagine the effect on business of a just in time manufacturer. Errr Sorry I am sitting in the services waiting on the truck charging. Moving on to...

Re: NCB on multiple cars?

Once when speaking to my insurance broker he tried to sell me a protected NCB policy where I could have as many accidents as I wanted and I wouldn't lose my NCB. I said surely if I was unlucky and wrote off 3 cars next year you would take off my NCB. No he said,we would increase your quotation to £8...

Re: Repaint, 2nd time round, 73T

Maybe the pictures do flatter the car but I think you should give yourself a pat on the back for getting the car tidied up and knowing you have a solid well sorted 911 for a sensible budget( I hope) and doing a lot of work yourself. Well done

Re: What’s the worst car you’ve ever owned?

One of the original Daihatsu Fourtrak's. It failed it's first mot on rust. It was absolutely dreadful,no power steering and no power! Mind you Land Rover's weren't exactly great to drive back then either!
