Bosch K-Jet '73 0438140001 Warm Up regulator
Selling a Bosch 0438140001 Warm up regulator. I believe this is the first version of the WUR that was fitted to the '73 CIS cars and was quickly superseded to the cheaper fixed WURs from 74 onwards. This particular version of the WUR is adjustable with a hex key, unlike the later ones and was suppli...

Original Interior for a 1974 911
Here is the original interior in tan from my Bitter Chocolate 1974 911. See the Manhattan project thread here http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=51455 Had hoped to re-use it but clashed with the Signal Orange colour change. The interior is in excellent condition with one burst seam on ...

Bosch black coil for CDI 0221 121 001
Having another clear out of surplus items. I have a spare 0221 121 001 black Bosch coils for cars running 3 or 6 pin CDI. The Bosch spec is 0.4 to 0.6 ohm between terminals 1 and 15 - winding one, and 650 - 790 between terminals 4 and 1 - winding two. I measure this one to be 0.6 ohm / 675 ohm so al...

Re: GT3 Mk1 engine fixer needed
There is a gent on 911UK who is rebuilding a MkII engine - he claims to have the Porsche manual for the Mk1 engine and he claims the two aren't that different. Might be worth a read. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=138960&highlight= I expect DeMort or others might be able to help over there. Go...

Re: Tracing my car
In case you haven't checked it should be stamped in the original owners manual.
My '74 was stamped with the dealership Porsche Audi Manhattan in June 1974.

Re: Alternator Advice
Probably stating the obvious Gary, but worth checking you have the correct tension on your fan belt in case it is slightly slipping.
Changing the regulator is a cheap fix, otherwise it is probably the alternator.
Hope you get it sorted.

Re: My '72 911T
I believe the vents were the air inlet for the Webasto heater fitted cars, although you could also have the vented cover with a cardboard backing or solid metal cover for cars without Webasto.911hillclimber wrote:Why did Porsche vent the trans coupling cover?

Re: Wot, not another '79 Targa resto thread
Great work so far Peter. Interesting to see you recently running into a lot of the issues I had, misbehaving WURs, poor quality fuel pressure kits, SSI fouling cam covers etc. Good to see you got through it. One question - now that you have both a soft and hard rpm limit set in your CDI+ box, is it ...

Re: 8000 rpm/300 bhp 3.2 rebuild
Hi Graham, sorry to hear about your problems with the Clewett system aswell as your dealings with Electromotive. As a chartered Electrical engineer and having spent a large part of my career fittings electronics into hostile vehicle environments, I do have to agree with Jonny that the system doesn't...

Re: 1970 911T - original roof lining?
I believe it was Dave Nunn at Southbound trimmers who had the 'correct' headlining remade with the correct hex pattern and on a material of equivalent thickness to the original. The feedback I read about the Italian sourced one was that the material was much thicker than the original and difficult t...

Re: Engine oil recycling - the world's gone mad
Before rushing out to buy a small waste oil burner, you would need to check the legality as I believe from 2016 onwards you need a permit to burn waste oil in a SWOB. I looked into it a while ago when I found out my local tip only accept 10 litres of oil every six months - That's one 911 oil change ...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
The news about your bonnet is a bit of a bummer, but on a slightly positive note maybe your luck is changing as at least it didn't fall off for once!
